Peskov says Russia able to guarantee Europe’s energy security
MOSCOW, Jul 8 (PRIME) -- Russia is able to guarantee Europe’s energy security and the lack of heavy bills for the E.U. citizens, presidential spokesman Dmitry Peskov said on Friday.
“We absolutely deny any hints or direct accusations that the Russian side uses gas or oil as a weapon of political pressure. This is not true. Russia consistently complies with all its obligations,” he said.
“And Russia is still able to guarantee Europe’s entire energy security. And Russia is able to ensure the lack of huge bills for electrical power and heat, which are now received by the tax payers of the European states.”
He added that there is annual maintenance at any gas transit facility, and the return of the Nord Stream’s turbine will allow Russia to raise the supplies.
Russian gas giant Gazprom earlier reduced supplies via the Nord Stream gas pipeline explaining that Germany’s Siemens cannot return a turbine to the Portovaya compressor station from maintenance due to Canadian sanctions.
